Time To Get Cranking on My DAILY November Blogging!

A friend recently alerted me to the fact that November is National Blog Posting Month, brought to you by the many many folks over at BlogHer. I do not claim to be part of that massive organization (or to be half as interesting as many of those bloggers), but the idea of blogging every day for a month is a good idea regardless!

I am not the most consistent writer, but this blog has been very helpful in recording my family's history. All my life, I've wanted to be a more consistent record-keeper. My church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, encourages its members to keep journals and family histories, to be passed on down through the generations to our descendants. While I've always found that a lovely concept, in practice I often find myself struggling to get through each day with my sanity intact, let alone sitting down to pour out my thoughts onto the computer.

Now, however, thanks to the miracle of modern technology, I have a way to not only record my thoughts, feelings, & day-to-day experiences, but I can combine that with pictures and immediately broadcast it to my family and friends. How could I NOT take advantage of such an opportunity? It seems to be the Lord telling me to "turn my heart to my children" and record a little of our history for them to look at many years down the road.

Plus, in the short term, it's fun to let our friends & family know what we're up to!

So here I go (since I found out about this venture a day late, I'm counting this entry as my Nov. 1st entry). I can't promise these blogs will be coherent, useful, or on time, but I'm going to give it my all. Besides, our family has been really busy lately; we SHOULD have a lot to talk about! See you in the blogosphere, or something like that...
